5902 - Limited Edition by L.S. Lowry, titled "Group of People, 1959" this is number 62 from an edition of only 75 published worldwide. It is franked and numbered at the bottom right hand corner of the piece. Supplied with a certificate of authenticity signed by the Master Printer. A replacement valuation for £1500 will also be supplied, free of charge. Professionally framed and bespoke mount. Condition is mint. This painting is one of Lowry‚Äôs more colourful pictures. The figures including men, women and children are collected together in a huddle on a street. Only the subtlest of references indicate the setting; a diagonal line running through the painting marks the pavement, a broad black line on the right, this time vertical is probably a street lamp or an edge of a building. Interestingly, Lowry considered these years in his life to be his most productive and fruitful and commented, 'I feel more strongly about these people than ever I did about the industrial scene', he said.
