This stunning original painting is titled "Julie Baby, You're My Flame" (Fever) Note: supplied with a replacement valuation certificate for £15,000. This painting is actually the original used for the Limited Edition print of the same title, which sells for over £1500. This makes this painting highly desirable and collectable and could be a fabulous investment due to the history of the painting. Also supplied with notes by Marsha Hammel describing the influences for the painting. Other examples of the Artist's limited edition prints alone are now selling up to £3500. A Limited edition book on Marsha Hammel's life and art history has been published and selling for £250. The song "Fever" achieved its definitive form and sophisticated sensuality when sung by Peggy Lee, after evolving from an original recorded by Little Willie John. The songwriters were Danny Tate, Guy Chadwick and Shelly Peiken. The title of this painting comes from the fourth verse, which starts with the wonderful lines: Romeo loved Juliet, Juliet she felt the same, when he put his arms around her, he said "Julie, Baby, You're My Flame"
The artist states that the images invoked by the lyrics, coupled with the unforgettable melody and the evocative rhythm, have never left her imagination. The light hearted references to Romeo and Juliet, with a spin on Shakespearean verbiage, creates a relief of sorts to the eroticism of the composition.
