MEN OF SPEED: ANDY GREEN & DONALD CAMPBELL (1921-1967) Original signatures
5011 - A signed & mounted photo (measuring 33cm x 40cm approx) of Andy Green (Pilot/Driver of Thrust SSC) and a Proteus Bluebird Project 1963 booklet signed by the late Donald Campbell, he was a British speed record breaker who broke eight absolute world speed records on water and on land in the 1950s and 1960s. He remains the only person to set both world land and water speed records in the same year (1964). He died during a water speed record attempt at Coniston Water in the Lake District, England. Andy "Supersonic" Green is the current holder of the World Land speed record, and the first person to break the sound barrier on land. On 25 September 1997 in Thrust SSC he beat the previous record in Black Rock Desert, US, reaching a speed of 714.144 miles per hour (1,149.303 km/h). H: 33cm W: 40cm D: 1cm
